Magician: Alex Nafarro is a Brakebills-educated Magician, possessing an extremely high mastery over magic. Having graduated from Brakebills with nearly perfect marks, Henry Fogg has stated that they were expected to accomplish great things with their magic. They were capable of engaging in prolonged combat against Dean Fogg and several Brakebills professors, each a Master Magician, with considerable skill, only retreating when their revenant turned against them.
- Magic Manipulation: Nafarro is able to shape and manipulate the energy of the Wellspring to cast spells by speaking incantations and writing specific formations with their hands, conjuring phosphorescent constructs of energy. They later began studying powerful spells and magical texts on subjects
- Necromancy: After graduating from Brakebills, Nafarro began studying necromancy and gained enough proficiency to raise a revenant of Sophie Carlson following her death at the Proving Ground on Brakebills.
- Summoning: After graduating from Brakebills, Nafarro was reported to be collecting and studying powerful summoning spells.
- Prescience: Nafarro's Discipline is prescience, granting them foresight into the future. After seeing a vision of an apocalyptic future coming for the Earth, Nafarro began targeting magical universities for their collection of books on forbidden forms of magic to arm themselves for the threat.
