Dempsey's Silent Thermogenesis is a spell used to superheat matter into a molten state.
History[]
During her first year attending Brakebills University, Alice Quinn was asked by Professor March to demonstrate her magical abilities on a marble. Quinn performed Dempsey's Silent Thermogenesis to heat the marble into a liquid before shaping it into a glass horse.[1]
At the end of her semester studying with Professor Mischa Mayakovsky at Brakebills South, Quinn was among the students who chose to race to the south pole to return to Brakebills. Instead of using the mutton provided by Mayakovsky to cast Chkhartishvili's Enveloping Warmth, Quinn used the thermogenesis charm to coat her body in a protective aura that she needed to recast after a couple of hours. She later switched to an adjusted version of Miller Flare after growing tired of recasting the charm.[2][3]
