Eleanor Lipson is a professor at Brakebills University and the head physician of the school's Infirmary.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Lipson was previously in a relationship with Mischa Mayakovsky prior to his banishment to Brakebills South for having an affair with Emily Greenstreet that ended in the death of Charlie Quinn.[1] At some point before going to Brakebills she was a trauma surgeon.
Personality[]
Lipson is a sarcastic, no-nonsense teacher at Brakebills and one of the trusted advisors of Henry Fogg on issues related to students' safety. Lipson enjoys musicals.

Magic[]
Master Magician: Professor Lipson is a master magician, who excels as a possible Healing disciple. A respected member of the Brakebills University faculty, Professor Lipson has the knowledge and skill of a formidable magician, accumulating over the years to grant her the power of a Master Magician. As such, she is the leading Healer in the school, called upon to handle the direst of medical situations. Her skill with magic was further displayed after the loss of magic when, using a magical battery she helped create with Mischa Mayakovsky, she summoned a dinosaur from the drawing of a dying child and cast a large love spell on an entire park effecting everyone who entered it.
- Wellspring Magic Manipulation: Lipson is able to shape and manipulate the energy of the Wellspring to cast spells by writing specific formations with her hands, generating phosphorescent constructs of magic.
- Healing Magic: Lipson leads the Healers in the school's infirmary, and is typically seen looking over special cases, such as Quentin Coldwater's injuries from misusing Battle Magic, as well as overseeing Penny Adiyodi's condition after being cursed by a magical blade. As head of the Healers, Lipson holds a vast index of magical symptoms and illnesses, akin to that of a physician. She was able to quickly determine an affliction in Margo Hanson that was causing her Chi to leak from her due to a misused ritual performed by an ex-boyfriend.
