Eliphas' Realm is a pocket realm created by the time traveller Eliphas to store various artifacts he's collected over the years. The magic surrounding it prevents people inside from traveling away, and inhabitants do not need to eat, pee or sleep which causes them to lose track of time itself. It becomes maddening and is seen as slow torture.
In the room is a chair where time travellers get their mutated plasma taken away from them. It brings any time traveller there via a telepathic signal that brings them into the room without their consent.

The magician Eliphas might be a vague reference to Eliphas Levi, a French author of the 1900's by the same name who studied esoteric topics including alchemy, occultism, etc.

Eliphas Levi referenced light often in his studies and there are vague references to "lamp magic." This could be a historical connection made by the above quote in Season 5, Episode 10, "Purgatory."
