After learning he'd be expelled from Brakebills University after the blame for summoning The Beast was placed solely on him, Quentin Coldwater was walking back to his dorm to collect his belongings when he spotted Penny Adiyodi and confronted him, only to be knocked down by Adiyodi in the process. Coldwater then got up and shot off the Force Push spell at Adiyodi; however, the spell was rebounded back, sending Coldwater flying several feet. The altercation was interrupted by Professor Pearl Sunderland, who sent the two to the school's infirmary.[1]
