Javier is a Second Year student at Universidad De Asombro who traveled to Brakebills University for an inter-school Welters tournament, where he met Eliot Waugh.
Biography[]
Javier was born in Spain and later was invited to attend the Universidad De Asombro after the school noticed his magical abilities, becoming involved in a relationship with another man during his enrollment. He later became involved in Welters at the school and traveled to other schools for tournaments, including Brakebills University. This is where he met Eliot Waugh, who he later slept with after convincing Waugh that their relationships didn't count since their partners were far away.[1]
Javier was later among the list of people's boyfriends Waugh regretted sleeping with while he tried to find his darkest memory to break free of Nameless' mindscape to send Quentin Coldwater a message.[2]

- Magician: Javier is a classically trained Magician educated by Universidad De Asombro, where he learned the fundamentals of magical theory and memorized Circumstances to allow him to properly control his casting of spells. He is also adept at adjusting his spells, making him proficient enough in Welters matches to travel to other schools for tournaments.
- Magic Manipulation: Javier is able to shape and manipulate the energy of the Wellspring to cast spells by writing specific formations with his hands, conjuring phosphorescent constructs of energy.

- Javier is partially and inadvertently responsible for Fen's pregnancy. While Eliot's golem was on Earth having sex with Javier, the real Eliot was also having sex with his wife on Fillory.[1] Shortly after this Fen found out she was pregnant.[3]
