"Check this out. Kaminsky, Umar, Aurora."
"I've never even heard of those."
"Of course, you haven't. You're not a Traveler. It's the entire 101."
Penny Adiyodi and Alice Quinn[src]

Kaminsky was the author of Advanced Astral Projection and Advances in Astral Science, books used for study by Psychics and Travelers.

Biography[]

Kaminsky was educated in magic and studied the Astral Realm. He eventually published his knowledge in several books that were collected by magicians who studied Traveling. Penny Adiyodi was given Kaminsky's work to help him learn to control his abilities, and later discovered a copy in Christopher Plover's writing room at the Plover Estate in England, leading to the revelation that Plover was attempting to learn to Travel in order to join the Chatwins in Fillory.[1]

After more Travelers began discovering their abilities following the death of Everett Rowe and the release of the extra magic from the Secret Sea, Henry Fogg hired the Penny Adiyodi from Timeline 23 as a Professor at Brakebills due to being the only Brakebills-educated Traveler he trusted to train the new students. Adiyodi initially was abrasive to the idea, telling the students that the books on Traveling, including Kaminsky's work, would only put ideas into their heads that could kill them and advised that they get an Anti-Traveling Spell tattooed on themselves and live their lives.[2]
