Sir Hargreave Mcgrubney Cubbins Archibald Brian Effingham III, also known as Sir Effingham, is one of the seven Questing Creatures of Fillory.

Delivering a Quest[]

Sir Effingham traveled to New York City and was searching for food in Kady Orloff-Diaz's Penthouse when Julia Wicker entered the kitchen, startled by his appearance. Apologizing for his unannounced visit and for raiding their refrigerator, Sir Effingham explained that he was on Earth to bestow a quest to a hero.
When Wicker asked how she could help, Effingham asked to speak with Quentin Coldwater and became distraught when he learned Coldwater had died. Julia then offered her help, but Effingham stated she couldn't step up to the task due to being a woman before stating that a man would rise to the occasion to save the day, leaving to continue his search, much to Wicker's annoyance.[1]
